Posted in Powerlifting by Nammerz on the September 12th, 2008

Today kinda sucked. It’s interesting that I could just tell the whole workout wasn’t going to go well today from the warmup sets. Is it that my mentality sets that pace for the rest of the workout, I’m prescient, or both?

9/9 - ME Deadlift

Posted in Powerlifting by Nammerz on the September 9th, 2008

So I got a deep tissue massage this morning, which was way overdue. Too bad I get them twice a year b/c I probably need a solid 2 months straight of weekly massages in order to relax all of my muscles. My back/traps/legs are incredibly tight from a lifetime of sports and lifting. Anyways, I waited until nighttime to actually lift. Might I say it was a pretty good workout? Oh, and in the mid-afternoon I decided to go run about a mile and do several sprints build-ups on the track.

A. Convential Deadlifts:
Barx8x1
135x5x1
175x5x1

9/8 - ME Bench

Posted in Bodybuilding by Nammerz on the September 8th, 2008

I felt pretty good this morning so what better than to hit the gym? Even though the workout went pretty well, I felt like I was getting bored of the current workout. Oh well, I’ll just tough it out until I get back to school. My current routine calls for more variation every workout anyways, but the lifetime I go to sucks…

The bulk of the first week of the NFL season started yesterday, and boy was it an interesting beginning. 1) Tom Brady is done for the season 2) Chargers lose to Panthers 3) Colts lose to da bears…. 4) did i mention Brady is out for the season? Even so, the backup Matt Cassel did pretty well–it’s interesting that he hasn’t started a game at any level since 1999(high school). FYI, he backed up Matt Leinart at USC. Regardless, the most excitement, for me, will be tonight when the vikes take on the packers on MNF. If Tavaris plays average to take advantage of the 8 man front anticipating AD. Should be a good game woooooooooo

A. Low-Incline DB Bench:
40x8x1
45x5x1
50x5x1
60x3x1
65x3x1
70x3x1
75x3x1

9/5 - ME Squat

It was a somewhat late night session for today, and I was curious as to how it was going to go. It actually went pretty well with fewer people at the gym to distract me. 8.29 - ME Squats

Posted in Uncategorized by Nammerz on the August 30th, 2008

Training was pretty shitty today, but I trained nevertheless. It probably was a direct result of the “Great Minnesota Get Together” (aka the MN State Fair for the majority of you out there). I probably had 2000 calories of the greasiest and most unhealthy food you could have. It makes you feel so bad but it’s still sooo good ;). Also, I was dehydrated for most of the day :-/ After 4 hrs at the fair, I still managed to hit up the gym to do squats….squats.

A. Back Squats
Barx5
95×5
135×5
170×3
200×3
230×3
250×3
260×1
270xFAIL — ahhhh wtfffff I normally could get this/i wasn’t focused on this rep/isuck
135×12

B. Bulgarian Squats
30 lb dbsx8×3

C1. RDLS
185×6x3

C2. Leg Extensions
160×8x3

C3. PUllups
BWx6×3

This workout pissed me off…I’m totally gonna own all of my lifts next week. Wait and see…

Vikings 10, Cowboys 16

Another loss and 1-3 in the preseason = Big Whoop. I didn’t really catch much of the game tonight partially because this game was basically a glorified tryout for both teams and because there were 2 other games going on that I was interested in. Even though I initially mitigate our loss, it still was disappointing to see our 3rd and 4th string QBs (TJaxx and Frerotte both sat out) suck it up. JD Booty threw an interception on his first pass. I know it’s only his first year, but I really don’t have much faith in him making a significant impact in the NFL. He was spoiled with the talent surrounding him in USC–don’t forget Stanford beat them last year…HA! Even despite his poor performance in the preseason, the vikes will likely cut Bollinger in favor of keeping a younger player in their system to develop. I’m pumped for the season to begin, and there’s not a more appropriate way to kick off the season than against the Packers at Lambeau.

Twins 2, Athletics 3

FUCKKKKK! I can’t believe we keep doing this. How the hell do we keep losing to these shitty teams? First Seattle and now the A’s. We honestly have to stop playing at the level of our opponents, especially when they suck. Not to mention, our bullpen can’t hold their own on the road. They have like a 6 something ERA compared to their 1.9 ERA at home. PATHETIC. The White Sox must be loving this. I have nothing left to say.

On a higher note:

Stanford 36, Oregon St 28

Wow, this was pretty unexpected. I’m actually somewhat disappointed I wasn’t back at school yet, so that I could’ve gone to the game. It should be a pretty awesome year. We might win more than 4 games this year! One down…4 more to go! This win basically was thanks to Toby Gerhart, the O-Line, and the Linebackers. OSU almost came back at the end to tie it up, but the sophomore WR Catchings made an overzealous move around the 1 yrd line when he decided to extend towards the endzone but much to this chagrin, he fumbled the ball and it rolled into the endzone = TOUCHBACKSTANFORDWINSWOOOOO.

Today was a pretty solid workout. I met up with one of my buddies. I was glad to see him hit the gym again because he’s been too busy with his new found passion: road biking. I can’t knock him for it, though, cuz it is a pretty healthy and good hobby. The kid seriously bikes about 40 miles a day or something.
